Shirley died counting her blessings. She passed peacefully from this life on May 5, 2016. She lived a life of service, gratitude and love.
Shirley attended East High School and University of Utah. She met her sweetheart, Lou at a party given by her parents. They married for eternity in 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. As newlyweds they made many lifelong friends in Lamba Delta Sigma.
The gospel and her family were at the center of her life. They welcomed missionaries and servicemen into their home regularly, and made countless meals for those in need. Shirley served in many callings in the LDS church. One of her favorite callings was serving with Lou in the Salt Lake Temple, and the Locator Mission for 20 years. She was an active member of the DUP.
Shirley valued education and loved music and she passed those values onto her children and grandchildren. Her favorite times were spent with them. Her wish was to have no empty chairs when we reunite in heaven.
