ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Larkin Mortuary, Larkin Memorial, Rocky Mountain Vault, Utah Simple Cremations, and The Rose Shop (collectively "we," "us," or "our") are committed to ensuring that our websites and digital services are accessible to people with disabilities. We believe that everyone — including those who rely on assistive technology — should be able to learn about our services, honor loved ones, and complete arrangements with dignity and ease.
1. Our Commitment
We strive to conform to Level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1). These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide variety of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities. We also work to comply with the applicable provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act, as they apply to commercial websites.
2. Measures We Take
- Designing pages with semantic HTML so that screen readers can interpret structure and meaning.
- Providing text alternatives ("alt text") for meaningful images.
- Ensuring sufficient color contrast between text and background.
- Supporting keyboard-only navigation for interactive elements.
- Labeling forms and buttons so they are announced clearly by assistive technologies.
- Including a "skip to main content" link on key pages to bypass repeated navigation.
- Testing pages with screen readers and automated accessibility tools as we make changes.
3. Ongoing Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. Some of our content — including older obituaries, embedded video, and third-party widgets such as payment processors, maps, chat, and social-media plugins — may not yet meet every WCAG 2.1 success criterion. We continue to audit and update our pages, and we welcome feedback that helps us identify and prioritize fixes.
4. Third-Party Content
Portions of our websites incorporate content or services provided by third parties (for example, Stripe, Google Maps, Google Analytics, social media embeds, and video hosts). We do not control the accessibility of content hosted by third parties, but we will work with you to provide the underlying information in an accessible alternative format on request.
5. Requesting Assistance or an Accessible Alternative
If you have difficulty using or accessing any part of our website, or if you would like to request information in an alternative format (large print, audio, plain-text email, etc.), please contact us. We will work with you to provide the information, item, or transaction you seek through a communication method that is accessible for you.
When reporting an accessibility issue, please include:
- The web address (URL) of the page where you experienced the problem.
- A short description of the problem.
- The assistive technology you were using (if any), including browser and operating system.
- Your preferred way to be contacted with a response.
